Metamorphosis is perhaps one of the most popular magic tricks in history, and with good reason: it’s wicked cool when you see it in person. On TV or YouTube, you can assume it’s a camera trick of some sort, but up close, that quick switch is amazing, as the Seattle Mariners found out recently before a game.
Mariners manager Scott Servais wanted to help his players relax a bit before their game against the Atlanta Braves, so he treated them to the private magic show. They won 6-5, making the magic a pretty solid strategy.
Here’s the end of the trick, along with some serious box-checking by right fielder Nelson Cruz.
