World-famous street magician and television star David Blaine is an enigmatic figure in the magic scene, only appearing at two magic conventions in the last two decades. But now that all changes, as Genii Magazine has confirmed that Blaine will headline this year’s Genii Convention in Orlando, Florida.
Genii Magazine editor-in-chief Richard Kaufman will interview the mind behind the revolutionary television special Street Magic in a one-on-one interview panel at this year’s show, followed by a brief segment for questions and answers from the audience.
“I recently saw his live stage show: It was a historic moment,” Kaufman’s email announcement states. “He made me understand what it was like to see Houdini. He changed my mind. I knew we had to talk about it.”
Blaine joins a wealth of renowned and up-and-coming magicians at the con, and will be appearing alongside Dai Vernon, Max Maven, Shintaro Fujiyama, and many, many more.
The final schedule of appearances for Genii Convention has not been finalized yet, but the event runs from October 4-7 in Orlando, Florida, with workshops on Sunday, October 8. Tickets run $375 a piece, and is expected to sell out.
