Meet the brother-sister duo who became magicians for America’s Got Talent

February 9, 2018

With international touring and a finalist title from America’s Got Talent, Kadan Bart Rockett and Brooklyn Rockett are already racking up an impressive resume. It would be solid for two grown-ups, but this brother-sister duo are just 12 and 10 years old. The Union Leader interviewed the magical siblings ahead of a show in Concord, New Hampshire.

Kadan was already getting work as an actor when he started dabbling in magic. He set a goal of trying out for America’s Got Talent, but decided to do it as a magician rather than an actor. Brooklyn was initially the assistant, but now the siblings are more of a duo act. Although she used to be shy, the America’s Got Talent experience helped her open up and channel her comic side. “By the end of the first audition she ended up taking over the entire show,” Kadan said.

The sibling camaraderie you see on stage is very real. “We’re still brother and sister so we do fight, (but) after that we’re best friends again,” she said.

They’re impressing with their magic shows now, including this stunt with an iPhone and a vat of gravy, but there could be other careers in their future.

“I don’t know if we’re going to stay in magic forever,” Brooklyn said. “We love it, but (Kadan) loves to act, and I love to dance and sing. I don’t know if we’re going to do it or move on to something else we love. We’re just going to have to wait and see.”
