Magician Michael Turco, who’s appeared on America’s Got Talent, Masters of Illusion, and had his own show at Planet Hollywood in Las Vegas, raised just over $14,000 in donations for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Light The Night Walk a few weeks ago. Light the Night’s mission is “providing patient support services, advocating for lifesaving treatments and pioneering the most promising cancer research anywhere.” It’s a mission that is, unfortunately, a very personal one for Turco.  He recently shared this on his Facebook page:

For the past 10 months I have been fighting a very private battle to save my Life! 10 Months ago I was suddenly diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia! Since then I have been living in a hospital for the most part due to my intense rounds of chemotherapy. Recently, I had the opportunity to speak at a conference and share a patients perspective regarding treatment. After that I knew I needed to get out there and start bringing awareness to this terrible disease, and also do whatever I can to raise money. Light the Night is a walk sponsored by LLS and money donated goes to finding a cure!!! Please come and walk with Team Turco and donate today through the link below. Anything you can do will help greatly!!! Thank you to everyone during this process for reaching out to me and helping to keep my spirits up! You have no idea how much your kind words have meant to me throughout this process.

Turco’s fundraising page says he “has a few years of treatment left” but he is “beginning to see the finish line in the distance.” We at GeniiOnline applaud Michael for sharing his story to help raise money for others with cancer, and for staying strong during his own treatment.
