Harry Houdini was an inspiration to many, to filmmakers, artists, and of course countless magicians. He also served as the muse for American writer Bob Brown. In 1933, Brown penned a short book of poems inspired by the magician. Titled simply Houdini, the poems have been reprinted in a new paperback edition from Roving Eye Press.

Wild About Houdini picked up the news about the book, which basically qualifies as early fan fiction. An original copy of the pamphlet surfaced on eBay early last year and was purchased by Arthur Moses, who said, “I have known about this for over 30 years and have never seen it offered before. I only know of two other holdings; both in University collections.”

The reprints are available on Amazon, both in the U.S. and the UK.
